Buyer intelligence
Color is the first sorting factor. Different garnet species behave very differently in rarity and size; tsavorite, demantoid and spessartine should not be valued like generic red garnet.
Care
Most garnets are suitable for normal jewelry wear; warm soapy water is a safe general choice.
